Cardi B Net Worth: $24 million
Born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar in 1992 in the Bronx, Cardi B has become one of the most successful female rappers and songwriters in the country, with a net worth of $24 million.
Rise to Fame
Cardi B built her own fame. B was working as a stripper when she started Vine and Instagram accounts in 2014, where she posted stream of consciousness-style videos. In less than a year, the accounts went viral and earned her a spot in the reality TV series Love & Hip Hop: New York. During that time, she also landed a deal with Romantic Depot, a company selling sexy lingerie and erotic products. By 2016, she already had a net worth of $400,000, which grew to $1.5 million by February 2017.
She eventually left the show and released two mixtapes, which were well received. By the time her debut album came out in 2018, she was already a well known reality TV star with a very healthy bank account. The album reached number one on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum within months. From there, her net worth just exploded.
A Taste of Hollywood
In 2019, Cardi B appeared in the film Hustlers alongside Jennifer Lopez.
Later in the year, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, B confirmed that she will have a small role in the new Fast and the Furious film, even though she wasn’t a fan of the long days associated with movie acting. So why do it at all? “I enjoy the checks,” Cardi joked as response.
She cited the same main reason (the good pay) for taking on the role of a judge on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow, a reality hip-hop competition show. While there’s no public information on how much money she’s earning for any of these big and small screen appearances, we’ll have to take her word for it that it was a very good amount.
Other Business Ventures
In 2018, Cardi B released a line of small collection of jackets and coats as part of a collaboration with Fashion Nova. The items – which included a red faux gator jacket and a burgundy faux fur coat – sold out within hours of becoming available. While there’s no information on how much money Cardi B walked away with because of this collaboration, Fashion Nova sold $10.8 worth of stock in less than half of day after the collection became available. The takeaway? Cardi B probably did very well too.
Cardi B also filmed a Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi for an undisclosed amount the same year. But since a 30-second ad aired during the Super Bowl costs at least $5 million, it makes sense to assume they also pay their stars very well.
Properties and More
Cardi B owns a three-bedroom condo in Edgewater, New Jersey. In early 2019, Cardi B and her husband Offset bought several houses in a row in Jonesboro, a suburb in Atlanta, Georgia. The properties, which add up to just over $200,000 together, take about half a block on a leafy, quiet street.
Rumors were that the pair was planning on eventually connecting the plots and building a massive home there, but in December 2019, the couple bought a $5.5 million mansion in Atlanta instead. The five-bedroom, eleven-bathrooms home sits on 6 acres and comes with a gun range, a wine cellar and an infinity pool.
B also owns an impressive car collection that includes an orange orange Bentley Bentayga (valued at $240,000), a Lamborghini Urus ($207,326 ), a Rolls Royce Wraith ($330,000), and a McLaren 720S Spider ($315,000), among other vehicles. Ironically, Cardi B recently revealed that no only does she not have a driver’s license, but she also doesn’t know how to drive. B also owns a private jet worth around $20 million.
